For babies
Kate would not use a pacifier when she was an infant if our lives depended on it. So you can imagine my surprise when about a month ago she found one and stuck it right in her mouth...then proceeded to go about her business while sucking on it! I hoped it wouldn't become a habit, since of course she is now too old to be walking around with a "binky" in her mouth, and luckily it hasn't. The pacifiers float around from place to place and whenever she finds one, she holds it up for us and says "baby" (acknowledging the fact that they are not for her), then puts it in her mouth. It still doesn't stay in long since she needs to take it out to talk, but the other night she kept it in just long enough for me to snap a photo :0)
