Science Center

We did an overnight in Holderness, and even though is was raining in the morning, we outfitted everyone in raincoats (a staple if you live in New England) and headed to the science center.  This was by far the coolest place I have been in a while!  It was like a zoo set in the forest, and I would love to have a season pass with Kristina and the girls!!

It was a great opportunity to use the umbrella we had got at the bookstore!!

Cole was checking out the mountain lion...or trying to anyway, I'm pretty sure we didn't actually see him.

Kate at the same exhibit.

Marc and I had matching coats, as did Kate and Cole, so it only made sense to get a family photo :0)

Cutie Patuties

Here are a few pictures of Kate and Cole from the past few weeks.  We've been busy with work (me, not them), getting the house ready to sell, and other random errands.  I've had my camera with me more and I'm trying to be better at snapping some shots during the day :0)

Swimming at Kate and Tony's pool.  Cole looks so mature in this picture...and big!  I think it's the way Kate is leaning in.

A rare gem!  Both kids looking and smiling!!

Lunch in the park...good times!

Trucks

Kate doesn't quite share Marc's enthusiasm for trucks, but Cole sure does!!  Cole will make a truck out of anything, just like Kate used to make a baby out of anything.  He is always pushing something around the house and making his truck sound.  While Marc was working on his truck one day he brought Cole out to show and tell him all about it...I think they were both in heaven!

My boys :0)

Monkey

It was perfect timing that my parents were meeting some friends in Park City the same weekend that Cole turned one, so they were able to celebrate with us!  We also had a few good friends in attendance and an absolutely beautiful day to round it all out!  Here are some birthday pictures from Cole's party.  I still can't believe that he's one!!

Cole often sounds like a monkey, he also climbs around like one, so when I saw these cute cupcakes I knew we needed them for Cole's birthday...but I had to make them...  When will I learn that I can't do everything and stay sane?!  I pulled it off with help from my mom, but of course was grumpy and rude in the process...sorry, and thanks mom!

What a beautiful September day!!

Cracker in hand (and mouth), Cole was ready for cake (cupcake)!  Kate was a great birthday helper :0)  I totally expected her to be jealous of the birthday boy, but she really wasn't!

I love that Kate and Cole were SO into watching Marc light that candle!

And speaking of being into things, Cole was WAY into that cupcake!

Does it get much better?!

We almost got everyone looking :0)

Update: Month Eleven (and 4 days)

And so another month flies by and I have not yet done Cole's update...  Part of it is lack of time to sit here and part of it is denial :0)  How is this little man getting so big?!...and going to be ONE in a few short weeks?!?  This was a big month for Cole, we started swimming lessons which he loves!  He opens his mouth and closes his eyes under water, which is the opposite of what he's supposed to do, but he manages not to get water in his mouth so it's all good!  He started mooing like a cow, pointing at things (which is really cute), putting a phone up to his ear and saying "hi", really cruising the furniture, and standing from a squat!  He is REALLY working hard on walking in the past few days, and yesterday even took a little step/lerch forward!  I was so excited for Kate to do these things, but now with my second baby, I wish he would just slow down and stay a baby for a little (long) while longer!!

Playing out back at the "beach"...more on this to come as promised (much) earlier.

 Hiking at Park City Resort.

We had a really fun day at the zoo recently.  Even though it was really hot outside, all the animals were active and right up by the glass.  Cole really enjoyed the monkeys, he's waving "hi" to this guy.

Photo shoot

Getting a picture of these two is getting harder and harder these days...just take a look...
 My personal favorite :0)
 Both looking, only one smiling...
 See above..
And we're done!  I didn't get one picture from this "shoot"  where both were smiling.  Better luck next time I guess!

My kids

Even as I write kids I can not believe it. I know that I had 9 months to come to terms with it, but it is just so surreal looking at the two of them!! I took this picture the day that Cole and I came home from the hospital. Kate was so excited, and all she could keep telling me was how much she loved her brother, and how cute she (yes, she) was...she'll have a sister yet! Since coming home I have been overwhelmed at times, and I have also felt very in control of everything at times. I am dreading my first trip out with the two of them, but I also know that in no time it will all be "old hat". I don't know how a lot of things will go in the next few months, but one thing I know for sure is that I am one lucky mom to have these two cuties as my kids :0)

It's a boy!!

Meet the newest addition to our family, Cole Warren. He arrived as planned on Friday September 30 at 12:38pm, and he is absolutely perfect! I don't know how we managed to get so lucky to get not just one, but two beautiful children!! We are truly blessed!

Weighing in at 7 pounds 2 ounces, and 19 1/2 inches long. He was a screamer just like his big sis!...Although given the situation, we'd all probably scream too :0)

Getting ready for his first pic with mom and dad...

Looks a lot like a picture you may have seen before.

Proud daddy giving Cole his first bath.

Looking quite handsome after getting all cleaned up.

Billings Farm

We tried to do a few day trips while we were in Vermont, and one was up to Billings Farm in Woodstock. It's a working dairy farm with cows, horses, chickens, and sheep. We were hoping for more animals, and the chance to get a little more "up close and personal" with them, but overall it turned out to be a good trip.

Kate was feeding the animals before we even actually got into the farm.

That's our crew under the tree.

Getting some fruit to feed the sheep.

Kate and dad checking out the Jersey cows.

Up close and personal with a horse. Kate climbed the fence by herself to get a closer look at this guy. She was hoping for a ride :0)

Better late than never...?

We were so busy hanging out with dad on Father's Day, that I never got a chance to post. I don't even know where to start writing when it comes to talking about the great father that Marc is!! Kate would really be the one to tell you how awesome he is...you should see the way she lights up when he comes home in the evening, or how much fun they have at bedtime (a little too much sometimes :0) ). Just take a look back at some past posts...surprises of giant snowmen and snow on a warm sunny day are just a few of the fun things he has done for Kate! I am SO lucky to have a husband who is such a amazing dad, and I make sure to tell him often!

I mean, just look at those two...planning something, like always :0) Happy Father's Day to all the dads we love!

Happy Easter!

Hope you all had a wonderful Easter! We did, filled with egg hunts (they started last week), too much candy ( I've had to hide it all), and new traditions like a living room egg hunt followed by breakfast that lasted until noon :0)

Saturday's egg hunt. It was pretty chilly, but that didn't stop us!

It was a beautiful day so we were able to spend most of it outside!

An Easter smile :0)

Biggest snowman EVER!!!

A good foot of snow + lots of kids who have President's Day off = one BIG snowman!! Marc had driven past it on his way home, so when he got home Monday night, he had Kate and I get geared up for a surprise. We drove to the local elementary school to see what the kids (and probably some parents) were busy doing on their day off!
Heading out to see the giant man.
Kate was VERY excited!, and she kept yelling "hi buddy!"

A toothy grin :0)

Kate and mom dwarfed by the big guy!

New Year's Eve

We enjoyed a low key New Year's Eve at our house. We had fondue for dinner followed by relaxing on the couch and dancing to music from Times Square. We let Kate stay up until 10:00 and celebrated the New Year on east coast time...then went to bed. It was quite nice!

Enjoying fondue for the first time.

Maxing and relaxing :0)

Counting down to the new year. Here's to a good one from our family to yours!!
