Peas please

We've been having fun introducing Cole to new foods.  The latest flavor was peas...as you can see, he was a fan :0)  This was his also his first time in the highchair, and boy was he proud of himself sitting up there like a big "kid"!!  (He's already growing up too fast!!)

Cheeeeeseburger!

We stopped at In-N-Out Burger on our way home from doing our taxes tonight, and after some DELICIOUS burgers Kate decided that she wanted to sit in a highchair after all. She climbed up in there all by herself and since she was so excited she actually smiled for a picture! Go burgers! :0)

Update : Month Twenty Four

I've said it before and I'll say it again...and again...I CAN NOT believe that Kate is 2!! When she is asked how old she is she proudly says "two", and she seems content with that...no longer saying that she is three :0) Kate is funny, strong willed, smart, and loving. She loves to dance and sing (she has the cutest little voice!), and she goes nonstop ALL day long...making for one tired mommy! She weighs in at 22 pounds and is 31 inches tall...perfect! She is growing all the time, and she is a great eater!

Learning how to use her noisemaker.

Opening presents with some help from dad.

Yeah!!!

We got her a bug that roams around and blows bubbles...
...it was quite a hit!! She was telling "him" which way to go.

"Oh no, my cake is on fire!"

Kate wanted a strawberry cake...yum!!!

Realizing the cake wasn't actually on fire, and that she was going to get to blow out some candles!

She knew just what to do!

Blowing out the last candle....Happy Birthday Kate!!!!!

Thankful

For the first time since Marc and I have been married we were home for Thanksgiving...kind of... We planned on staying home and cooking Thanksgiving dinner, and I was really excited to follow the step by step instructions in "Turkey Day the Easy Way" from Parents magazine! I prepped everything on Wednesday per the article, so on Thursday when we decided to pack EVERYTHING up and head to Park City for dinner it was actually a breeze! We had planned on sharing Thanksgiving dinner with our friend Dan all along, and mid-week started tossing around the idea that we would go up there...just for fun :0) Since everything was already prepped, it was easy to finish it up there, and it turned out great! Now for a few things that I am thankful for...
I am most thankful for our beautiful, healthy, baby girl!!!

I am very thankful that I was able to pull of my first solo Thanksgiving dinner!...Thanks to Parents magazine, and all those years of watching my parents :0)

I am thankful for my amazing husband, our family, and friends!

Big Dipper

I've mentioned before that Kate loves sauces for dipping, and apparently she's not partial to Utah's own fry sauce...

In Colorado ranch is just as yummy!

This kept her busy while Marc and I ate dinner at our friend's wedding...we even asked for a refill :0)

Ice cream

Not too many things are better than homemade strawberry ice cream, as I'm sure Kate would agree. At the town picnic all the kids take turns churning the ice cream, then they line up for a tasty treat...delicious!!

Fry Sauce!...A Utah original

It's official, and I will promptly go to Babinski's (the cutest baby store) to get Kate the shirt that says "I LOVE FRY SAUCE!"
Showing off her newly acquired dipping skills.

Yum!

An apple a day

Kate does not have a apple a day, in fact she never has an apple unless it's in a jar or dehydrated...such is life when you only have two teeth. The other morning however, Kate would not take no for an answer, so I peeled a little section and she went to work on a real apple. She ate about a quarter of it before I had had enough of it...I was fishing it out from under the couch and rinsing Indy's hair off of it every 5 seconds! It was a good effort on her part, but one we won't try again too soon.

Best highchair ever

Food and fun...that's what this highchair offers! Our friend Jeannie is well equipped and had this awesome highchair that provided just enough distraction so I could slip food into Kate's mouth without her even knowing it. I think we need one!!...only minus, there's actually no place to put food on the tray with all that fun...but who really needs that anyway?

Good times

I was giving Indy some goldfish crackers last night, and Kate just thought that was hilarious. I was glad that she kept up that belly laugh for the camera. Is that not the best sound?!?!

Yum!

Here is a little video of Kate at mealtime. It has been really fun introducing her to new foods this past month...here she is trying a barley biscuit...it should be zwieback toasts, but they don't make then anymore! I am slowly getting over the fact that mealtime=messy time, and I resisted the urge to wipe up every sticky biscuity hand print as she made them!
