Merry Christmas 2012!

I'm not doing too bad, posting a short week after Christmas :0)  We traveled to Bozeman to see Uncle Eric, Gran, and Opi, and as is the story of my life, I didn't get many pictures...  I did get several of my little twinners though, and now I know why moms of twins dress their kids alike all the time...it's so damn cute!!

All the above pictures were taken on Christmas Eve when twin madness began.  I kept them in their jammies half of the day on Christmas, and I will probably put them in their new pjs a few times this week :0)  I just can't get enough!

Christmas morning...notice how Santa had to push the logs out of the way to get in, and how he left a "soot" print on the floor :0)  This picture is perfect too, because even though Cole has no clue about all that, he has a look on his face like "hey, how'd he get in here?!"

 Stocking fun!

Cole was excited to get in on the action too!

I hope you all enjoyed your holiday!  We had a really good time, surrounded by family and some new found friends (thank you Eric for sharing your Bozeman family with us :0)).  Wishing you A Merry Christmas and A Very Happy New Year!!

Jolly (not so) Old St. Dadalous

I don't think I've mentioned it here before, but I love Fotofly!  It is a photo studio here, and since finding it last year we have been there every few months...  Well, for Christmas they do something that is SO genius that I am sad I didn't think of it myself!  You have the option to have your kids sit on Santa's lap, or if they won't be comfortable with that, dad (or mom) can dress up like Santa and they take pictures of the kids interacting with Santa but never showing his face.  I really thought Kate would be ok with Santa, she was really excited to see him, but once we got there she wanted nothing to do with him.  So, Marc donned the suit and we got a few photos... (I'm really bummed I didn't get a picture of Marc dressed up!...Next time..)

That's Kate's fake smile :0)

I love these two pictures!  Look how Kate's got her arm around Cole in the second one...it's so cute!!

A Thanksgiving surprise!

We made a kind of spur of the moment decision to head to Montana for Thanksgiving to surprise my family...and surprise them we did!  Kate was so excited that she made up her own "we're going to Nana's house" song that she sang for the first hour or so of the trip!  Both she and Cole were excellent travellers and we were lucky enough to have good traveling weather in both directions.

Thank you Lauren for this great Thanksgiving collage!  I love the picture of Kate rolling the dough for the dinner rolls!

Wear black

Once or twice a month there are special wardrobe days at Kate's school (like wear yellow or brown..).  During October there were two...orange and black of course.  When I first saw the calander I though, oh darn, Kate doesn't own anything that's black...until my parents friends came to town bearing gifts!!  Isn't this the cutest outfit EVER!?  I wish she could wear it more...we did get in about 4 wears while we could :0)...and there's always next October!

Under the sea

Happy Halloween from SLC!!!  We had quite the fun filled day starting with Kate's school party (Cole and I weren't there, but Kate reports that it was "lots of fun!), then a quick trip up to Shriners and lastly trick or treating around our street with the neighbors.  Getting a good picture of my two sea creatures proved difficult, but I did get a few...

Kate went back and forth between wanting to be a princess or a mermaid, but when finally given the choice between the two costumes she picked the mermaid...only to want the princess costume days later (not really a surprise).  Then she was going to be a "princess mermaid" (we have a tiara or two laying around here).  Then she was going to be a "princess mermaid butterfly" (we have wings in the costume bucket)...that got chuckles from the strangers who casually asked what she was going to be for Halloween!  After ALL that, she was simply a mermaid, and a sweet little mermaid at that!

Cole was actually going to be a pumpkin because we have that costume already, but we were given this amazing Nemo costume and it was a perfect match with the mermaid!

Cole was so happy running around in his costume!

Kate was really excited to hand out candy to trick or treaters, and just wanted to hang out on the porch :0)

Parade

I am slowly (very slowly) but surely getting around to posting pictures from Vermont.  Here are a few from the parade on the Fourth of July.  As always we are the parade and as the girls are getting older they are enjoying it more, which is so fun to see!

Mabel and Kate with Uncle Eric.

Cole with Uncle Pat, who lives for the fourth to be able to sport those palm tree pants!

Cole and Dad...Check out Cole's face, it's pretty funny :0)

A wee bit 'o back blogging

I had all the best intentions of posting these on St. Patrick's Day...of course there were also supposed to be pictures of Cole...  Better late than never?!

HAPPY

ST. PATRICK'S DAY!!!...Nearly a month late!....
(Better luck with the Easter pictures Mom :0))

The presents just keep coming

It would have been a great Christmas present, but we never got our act together in time...  It was probably better that we were late anyway, if she had these on top of everything else on Christmas morning we NEVER would have got all the presents opened!  Marc picked up these skis and boots on Saturday afternoon while Kate was napping, and we waited until later that night to show her.
Kate ate a great dinner, knowing that she had a special surprise if she did so...and oh what a surprise it was!  Marc brought them into the living room and she was SO excited!!  "WOW, thanks Dad!", she kept repeating over and over :0)  (I got a video, but it's long and sadly it will never upload here.)  We finally got her to bed after all the excitement, and of course they were the first thing she looked for in the morning.  After a good breakfast (skis are a great incentive to eat!), she and Marc hit the backyard for a little "on snow time".  She loved it...now it's all she wants to do!  We'll keep you posted...see if she still loves it as much when we take her to the park where there's a little incline :0)

Christmas morning

I was so excited for Kate to come up and see all the presents under the tree!  Unfortunately I didn't get to record it, but she was so excited and kept shouting "He came, he came!!".  My parents and brother Charlie were here with us, and we were all surprised as unwrapping the presents went on and on...every time Kate opened something she wanted to stop and play.  After a few presents we stopped for breakfast and then went back to the (slowly) unwrapping, which lasted until about noon :0)

Opening up her new computer from Uncle John.

This is what Cole thought of Christmas :0)

Who doesn't love a good 'ol Slinky?!  Thanks Aunt Lauren and Chris!!!  Kate and Uncle Charlie spent hours sending it down the stairs!

All Kate asked Santa for was a microphone...and she got it.

All dressed up her in her pretty red dress.

Santa Claus comes tonight

Here's our resident Santa.  He's a cute one, a bit smaller than the original...he sits on your lap instead of you on his :0)  We've been busy preparing for what promises to be a fun Christmas morning!  Kate is very excited (which makes me very excited!), and as I was putting her to bed asked if Santa was going to be sleeping here tonight!  (Makes sense, right?)  I can't even wait to open presents...to see how excited Kate will be when she opens her presents that Santa brought!...it's like being a kid all over again!  I hope you are all feeling the joy of this holiday season as well!!

Turkey

While we enjoyed the holiday with friends, Cole slept most of his first Thanksgiving away.  He hardly made a peep while everyone cooked, played, watched football, and ate around him.

Green teeth

Along with all the candy and treats Kate got for Halloween, she also got some spider rings and "green teeth".  She has gotten quite a kick out of "scaring" Marc with them...they might be the best Halloween treat ever :0)

 Sweet Kate.

Scary Kate.....aaahhhh!!!

Halloween fun

Yes, Halloween was Monday, so I am a little behind, but I am finally posting the few pictures I managed to get of Kate and Cole in their costumes.  I took Kate trick or treating at Shriner's during the day, and in the evening Ava came to join us to trick or treat at the neighbors houses.  Kate got WAY too much candy...I've been hiding and re hiding the bag all week...but I think she has finally (kind of) forgot about it :0)

Little pumpkin...eyes open and all!

These girls did not want to look at the camera!!!

Both girls came home with HUGE lollipops! After a few minutes of licking, and things getting pretty sticky we took them away...not a fun task :0)

Landgrove parade

July 4th started as usual in Landgrove with the Hill vs. Valley baseball game...sadly Hill won this year, but it was a good game. The rest of the day was spent lounging and swimming, with a quick trip to The Vermont Country Store, and then the parade and picnic.

"The girls", getting ready to march in the parade.

Still waiting to march...Kate admiring the water below...until Tristan came along :0)

There's Pat, he was part of the band this year!

"Mazey", as Kate was calling her, looking cute!

My favorite part of the parade is watching all the kids at the monument. SO CUTE!

Back in business

We haven't forgotten about you, we've just had some technical difficulties with the Internet here in Vermont...but I think we are finally back online :0) We have been enjoying beautiful weather here, and are relaxing now that the 4th of July festivities are over. This is what Kate was doing after the parade last Saturday...apparently playing in the dirt is WAY more fun than actually watching the parade. I will continue to "back blog" about our trip as I have time. Until then, I hope this pic tides you over :0)

Better late than never...?

We were so busy hanging out with dad on Father's Day, that I never got a chance to post. I don't even know where to start writing when it comes to talking about the great father that Marc is!! Kate would really be the one to tell you how awesome he is...you should see the way she lights up when he comes home in the evening, or how much fun they have at bedtime (a little too much sometimes :0) ). Just take a look back at some past posts...surprises of giant snowmen and snow on a warm sunny day are just a few of the fun things he has done for Kate! I am SO lucky to have a husband who is such a amazing dad, and I make sure to tell him often!

I mean, just look at those two...planning something, like always :0) Happy Father's Day to all the dads we love!

Shout out

We hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day!!! Even though Mother Nature was not very kind to us here, I still had a great day with Kate and Marc :0) They spoiled me with flowers, balloons, and yummy strawberries...I'm a lucky mama!!! I wish we were able to be with family on days like this, but at least we are able to talk with them, and through technology they can see Kate :0)

How cute is that?!

Happy Easter!

Hope you all had a wonderful Easter! We did, filled with egg hunts (they started last week), too much candy ( I've had to hide it all), and new traditions like a living room egg hunt followed by breakfast that lasted until noon :0)

Saturday's egg hunt. It was pretty chilly, but that didn't stop us!

It was a beautiful day so we were able to spend most of it outside!

An Easter smile :0)
