Update: Month Seventeen

I tend to get a little excited when Kate's monthly "birthday" is on Friday...it hasn't happened since November, and won't again until May. Anyway, this has been a really big month for Kate. She is doing so much by herself these days, and gets VERY frustrated if she is unable to so. She has been trying to put her own clothes on and can kind of do it. She can put her necklaces on and take them off by herself, and she's working on sunglasses. She just started walking down the four steps outside unassisted, but holding onto the railing! And the biggest surprise to me lately is that she can feed herself...with a spoon or fork! The other morning I made her an egg like always and started doing some dishes while it was cooling...when I turned around Kate was putting the last bite into her mouth with her fork!
Whining has decreased around here (most of the time), since Kate is able to tell us what she wants. She says a new word a day, most recently including rayin (raisin), mayos (tomatoes), sue (shoe), and bi (bite, of bread...although she does have a nasty habit of biting...please tell me how I can stop that!). She tells me when I need to change her diaper, which is very handy, and hopefully will be useful for potty training. Shes enjoys music as always, and lets me know she wants to listen to it by bringing my phone over to me and dancing...because that's what she's going to do when it's on! As you can tell our days are busy and fun filled, and needless to say, everyone in the Joder household sleeps well at night :0)
She has figured out how to put her sunglasses on the right way since this picture was taken.

She loves chapstick! I let her put it on and then tell her I have to keep it in my pocket. So, the other day when I was telling her that and putting it into my pocket, she asked "me pocket please?"

If she finds a pair of underwear, she will put them around her neck then walk around like it's a cute fashion accessory...I hide them now :0)

Wearing just some of her bling...she has a lot!

Showing off her shampoo mohawk.

Playing in the sand at the park.
